The daredevil of full-size luxury crossover SUV – Buick Enclave. This underrated model has been a segment player for a long time which was contrary to everybody’s expectations. Now, the model is back with a new generation as 2017 Buick Enclave.
Although there’s rarely any room for aging models in the luxury crossover realm, this new Buick Enclave might just prove this notion wrong as it brings forth a myriad of updates and that too at a competitive price. As from the company’s perspective, this 2017 Enclave is set for being a big-time seller as well.
This new Buick Enclave 2017 is still an old soul though. It uses the same 3.6-liter VVT V6 engine which is now tuned to produce 288 HP of power at 6,300 RPM and 270 lb-ft of torque at 3,400 RPM. The engine’s improved power specs make up for a good towing capacity of 4,500 lbs.
Fuel economy is not as competitive as compared to other vehicles like Cadillac XT5 or GMC Acadia. The figures stay at 15 mpg in city, 22 mpg on highways and 18 mpg on a combined basis.
There’s no doubt that Buick Enclave has aged like wine and has now evolved to be an iconic style statement. The 2017 Buick Enclave comes refreshed with a pronounced styling that’s mostly reflected on the front fascia.
Buick’s signature grille now integrates a mesh-type intake while retaining the old vertical slats. Headlights are now robust and protrude from the front fenders which beef up the entire front fascia. Front bumper doesn’t put out much of a show as it is simple and has a straight forward approach. Sitting astride to this front bumper’s air intake are two fog light housings which integrate stylistic chrome finishers.
Interior and Comfort
The interior cabin of Buick Enclave 2017 is as welcoming and comfortable as it could ever be, plus it one of the roomiest cabins around. Buick has laid much focus towards a quiet ride as the company has used sound deadening materials through the cabin.
The dashboard now wears an upscale styling with soft-touch materials. With the optional leather upholstery, the cabin packs a punch in overall styling. This cabin offers seating for 7 which can be maximized to 8. Also, the front seats incorporate 8-way power reclining, heating and cooling. There’s ample leg room in the 2nd row seats along with a pretty good front view. Similarly, the 3rd row seat offers a fair amount of space. With the 2nd and 3rd row seats folded, the overall cargo space opens up to 115 cubic feet.
