Following the success recipes of the 2016 year model, 2017 Chevy Equinox brings forth unchanged parameters but with a new character. With subtle updates on styling, 2017 Equinox looks like a scaled down version of 2017 Chevrolet Traverse.
Following the customs of the previous model, 2017 Equinox comes with 4 different trims viz. LT, LS, L and Premier.
2017 Chevy Equinox offers two powertrain options.
- The 2.4-liter inline 4 SIDI engine comes standard in the base model. This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and produces 182 HP of power at 6,700 RPM and 172 lb-ft of torque at 4,900 RPM. This engine delivers a mileage of 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined. 0 to 60 mph sprint is achieved in 9 seconds.
- Getting higher on outputs is the optional 3.6-liter V6 which churns out 272 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 RPM and 301 HP of power at 6,500 RPM. This engine completes 0 to 60 mph sprint in 6.7 seconds and is rated to tow up to 3,500 lbs. Front wheel drive comes standard for both powertrains.
The exterior body of 2017 Chevy Equinox wears subtle upgrades which include sharp, careful detailing and good-looking proportions. Refreshment in the front fascia is portrayed by a new dual-port grille design and reflector style headlights.
The lower front fascia is sculpted to quite an extent as there’s a new nose and plastic cladding. All the 4 wheel arches are now beefed up which set a muscular profile. Changes have made way into the rear fascia too as the taillights borrow a squarish look that is found in most Chevy models.
The roof rails now wear a sporty design which extends towards the C and D-pillar. The exterior styling also offers several color options which include:
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Siren Red Tintcoat
- Mosaic Black Metallic
- Patriot Blue Metallic
- Blue Velvet Metallic
- Nightfall Gray Metallic
- Summit White
- Silver Ice Metallic
2017 Chevy Equinox Interior
