Infiniti has always led from the front when it comes to luxury automobiles just as its mother company Nissan has led in regular production models. And this 2017 Infiniti QX80 looks to set an all-new benchmark for luxury SUVs. From every angle and on paper, this model has everything from every angle both inside and out.
Here’s a review on this redesigned 2017 Infiniti QX80.
This car looks big, burly but suave almost business like. And that is just what the styling of this new model is all about. Infiniti has done well to keep the style and shape simple and add some minimalist touches to set a powerful profile.
The most characteristic exterior feature which makes it stand out from any other thingy running on 4 wheels is its bulged hood up front. And the same curved out hood is accentuated by similar muscularly curved fog lights housed within added contours on either side of a stretched trapezoidal air intake.
The grille is small and flows with the bicep-like bulge with a clean black mesh flaunting Infiniti’s brand logo. The headlamps are shaped to with the curves and give the car its distinct sharp front fascia. And it does have an aura in the dark with perfectly designed LEDs.
Small intakes are touched up on either side of the hood just below curved up mirrors. The body sides are just as minimal in details as they can be coming to rear end which is perhaps a bit too shapely lacking sharpness. Worthy mentions are the ribbed-LEDs in the rear lamps with an overall wavy design.
Hi-Tech and Regal
And this simply sums up the interiors. Richly decked up instrument clusters, you-name-it-they-have-it central console and loads of space – this is the 2017 Infiniti QX80 interiors for a buyer. Specs vary as per trims with the Japanese manufacturers decking up the top 2017 Infiniti QX80 Limited Edition trim with whatever they can possibly fit into this production model.
A short summary of luxury in these vehicles would include the likes of Truffle Brown leatherette upholstery with silver stitches, Ash Wood accents including a Mocha Burl which is available in the standard model. The best features are reserved for the Limited Edition though.
However, a sneak peek into the standard tech specs would be as follows: –
- Tri-Zone Climate Control.
- 13 Speaker Bose Sound System including an optional 15 Speaker Bose Cabin Surround system.
- Sirius XM Radio.
- 8-inch WVGA multi-infotainment display.
- Infiniti Navigation with Voice Activation.
- Around View 360 degree camera interface.
This 2017 Infiniti QX80 comes with a massive 5.6-liter V8 32-valve aluminum alloy block engine and it is more than powerful to surge forward with one dab of the throttle. Performance specs read as follows:
- Max Output – 400 HP at 5800 rpm.
- Max Torque – 413 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm.
- EPA – 14/20 mpg [City/Highway]
With a bit of everything, this engine has a perfectly refined torque output providing for a smooth drive. Transmission is a 7-Speed electronically Auto with ASC (Adaptive Shift Control). Drivetrain includes a 4WD along with Infiniti All-Mode system in the top two trims.
2017 Infiniti QX80 Competitors and Price
