Intriguing looks, brawny engine and adventurous performance are what the new 2017 Jeep Renegade is all about. Being the smallest crossover SUV of Jeep, Renegade is tall, upright and slab-sided. The 2017 Renegade marks its 3rd year of production and doesn’t bring any hefty changes. However, its overall performance has taken a raise with a few tweaks here and there.
Jeep has even let customers choose the new Renegade through a range of trim selections viz. 2017 Jeep Renegade Sport, Altitude, Latitude, Limited, Desert Hawk and 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. While the base trim; Sport starts at $18,000, the range-topping trim, Desert Hawk starts at $28,000.
The new 2017 Jeep Renegade continues with a pair of powertrain, and each of them offers a single transmission with a choice for either all-wheel or front-wheel drive.
- The base powertrain is a 160 HP 1.4-liter inline 4 engine which uses a 6-speed manual transmission. Its torque is rated at around 184 lb-ft which delivers an energetic acceleration when paired with a front-wheel drive.
- For higher outputs, there’s a 2.4-liter MultiAir 4-cylinder engine that integrates a flow control valve intake manifold and Dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT). This mill produces a decent 180 HP of power at 5,500 RPM and 175 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 RPM. Minor Changes in the Exterior
2017 Jeep Renegade retains the brand’s timeless styling which includes a strong stance characterized by a seven-slat grille. Nonetheless, the new Jeep Renegade doesn’t fail to create a stylistic impression with its authentic profile.
Its windshield is upright while the front fascia is flanked by a pair of classic round headlights. Down below, the front bumper is stamped to show strength and the trapezoidal wheel arches have grown in size. Heavy-duty fog lamps come optional which sit below the front turn signals.

The interior styling of 2017 Jeep Renegade is simply what one would find in a subcompact car; clean dashboard and ergonomically arranged center console. Jeep has laid out a practical approach while revisiting this cabin as the control knobs are slightly oversized.
The Uconnect infotainment display comes in three different sizes – 3.0 inches, 5.0 inches and 6.5 inches. The driver’s 7-inch full-color digital instrument cluster display now incorporates LED-lit read-out meters. The steering wheel integrates revised controls and heating function.
2017 Renegade also brings a host of safety features like ABS with Driveline Traction Control, Dual-stage Airbags, Electronic Stability Control and Tire Specific Low Tire Pressure Warning.
