KIA’s Sorento is on such a perfectly arranged evolutionary path that every single change fit in just right with the flow of minor updates for the past few years. This continues for 2017 KIA Sorento too as it has gained new stylistic exterior design elements, a modest change in interior and noteworthy tuning on the powertrain.
The new Sorento now makes sense to all the rejiggered proportions which KIA presented in the last model. Its exterior is revisited to meet all the recent family crossover trends. By the looks of exterior design, it seems KIA has studied Sorento’s rivals like Honda CR-V and Ford Escape to borrow some good ideas.
Exterior and Interior
Going specific with the exterior styling of 2017 KIA Sorento, its front fascia seems livelier than its predecessor. The grille is interesting as its mesh pattern creates a subtle bulge outwards along with sporty chrome accents. Dynamically redesigned headlights are now narrow and sit astride to this grille. These new headlights integrate HID projectors and LED daytime running lights on top. The section housing fog lamps have a trapezoidal shape with plastic and chrome embellishments.
New subtle creases make way into the hood and side body, the wheel arches are not imparting and rather adjust with the rest of body dimensions. Speaking of which, overall measurements go as – Length: 187.4 inches, Height: 66.3 inches, Width: 64.7 inches and Wheelbase: 109.4 inches.
The rear part shouts changes too. Rear overhang has increased in length and window is steeper. The taillights now wear a handsome design and are divided between the tailgate and rear pillar. Its bumper boasts of a robust skid plate and a single round exhaust.
Inside, 2017 KIA Sorento is all well and good as it adds much of the in-cabin ambiance. The seats are ergonomically arranged and chrome highlight is used just about everywhere. In total, KIA has presented changes in the driver’s gauge cluster, center console and dashboard.
