Ever wondered if HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) could come in great styling and powerful performance? Well, the new 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid certainly carves its niche with a plentiful of options.
This Rogue Hybrid offers the options for 2 different trims and their prices vary accordingly. The options have been put out as $30,000 for SV and $32,000 for SL.
Design that fascinates
For a vehicle that outsells many of Nissan’s core rivals like the Honda HR-V, Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4, a new groundbreaking hybrid variant can be considered as a whole new ball game (given the rising popularity of hybrid vehicles).
This Nissan Rogue Hybrid 2017 is based on the standard Rogue. The most of its design cues (both exterior & interior) are similar to the latter. The only thing that’s different is a badge that reads “Pure Drive Hybrid” on the tailgate.
Keeping all these aside, this model’s interior cabin styling and comfort slay competition too. The seats are plush and offer convenience features like power reclining and heating. Buyers also get to choose the optional third row seats which can be folded to open up cargo space.
Nissan has used sound deadening materials in this cabin which makes up for superior noise insulation. The AC system is revised with even distribution through out the cabin. Chrome accents and metallic trims highlight styling in the door panels, dashboard and center console.
2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid mpg
As compared to the standard Rogue, this hybrid variant offers a completely different driving experience. That’s because this model uses a 0.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers a 30 kW electric motor. This motor pairs up with the standard 2.0 liter DOHC 4 cylinder engine and power increases substantially to 176 hp. CVT is standard on all trims.
Besides the powertrain outputs, this 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid has taken a bump in efficiency too. According to Nissan officials, the battery power can alone deliver a driving range of up to 2 miles on a single charge. Fuel economy has also taken a bump as the combined ratings check at 35 mpg (FWD) and 33 mpg (AWD).
The new Nissan Rogue Hybrid 2017 uses several innovative technologies that work with the drivetrain to deliver the best driving convenience possible.
Some features of 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid are:
- Active Engine Braking – Braking frantically during city commuting can be tiresome. This is why the ingenious Xtronic CVT transmission helps in engine braking by making transitions to lower gears. This in turn creates a smoother deceleration.
- Hill Start Assist – Available on all trims, Hill Start Assist help drivers to start up on a slope without even having to touch the brake pedal. This prevents the vehicle from rolling backward.
- Active Trace Control – This feature helps in better cornering as it engages the brakes (inner and outer) accordingly while taking a steep turn.
- Active Ride Control – In case of speed bumps on the road, Active Ride Control helps minimize and smooth en the impact by adjusting engine torque and applying brakes automatically.
