Toyota is headed to bring out a great competition in the crossover SUV segment with the new Venza. Yes, with significant generational updates, 2017 Toyota Venza is in for competing aggressively with Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Subaru Outback, Kia Sorento and Nissan Murano. Apart from the cosmetic makeover, 2017 Venza also brings an array of standard features.
2017 Toyota Venza comes with 2 powertrain options:
- The first one is a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine which offers the option of both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. This engine churns out 181 HP at 5,800 RPM and 182 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 Fuel economy checks at 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway (for FWD) and 20 mpg city, 25 mpg (for AWD).
- The 2nd mill is a 3.5-liter V6 variant which produces 246 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 RPM and 268 HP at 6,200 RPM. With FWD, this engine delivers 20/25 mpg on city/highway and 18/25 mpg for AWD.
Both of these powertrains are paired with a 6-speed sequential shift electronically controlled automatic transmission system.
2017 Venza comes with newly added exterior color options including Cosmic Gray Mica, Cypress Pearl and Attitude Black.Toyota has even put out options for aluminum alloy wheel choices which include 19 inches and 20 inches. The front and rear disc brakes are now ventilated and come as standard.
As to styling, 2017 Toyota Venza wears a refreshed front fascia with a refreshed grille. The headlights are reworked with high-power HID projectors and daytime running LEDs are optional. The front bumper holds newly recessed fog lamp sections which feature chrome accents.
Moving on, the front door mirrors now incorporate LED turn signals. New chrome accents on the window panes add a premium styling. There’s a deep scoop at the bottom of B and C pillar which makes the rear wheel arches to protrude. The rear overhang is short and integrates stop light.
2017 Toyota Venza Interior Cabin
Like the exterior styling, the interior cabin also features 3 new color additions which include Black, Light Gray and Ivory. Major updates in this interior cabin include the driver’s gauge cluster which features a new TFT multi-color display.
In terms of electronics and technology, a revised 6.1 inch Toyota Entune multimedia/infotainment system is featured. As the arrangement of seats is revised, shoulder and leg room has increased a tad bit.The dashboard has a clean layout as that of the previous model. The driver’s seat is 10-way power adjustable and incorporates heating function as well.
The new Toyota Venza also features several safety techs including seven multi-stage airbags, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, child safety locks, rear-view camera parking assist, ABS and autonomous emergency braking.
Price and Availability
The base model of 2017 Toyota Venza starts at $29,700 and reaches up to $32,000. As there’s no word on official availability, dealerships are likely to get this model by the 1st quarters of 2017.
