This is big news for an automobile industry slowly but surely taking the all-electric section much more seriously with every passing year. It’s safe to say that Tesla and the Toyota Prius started it all. And nearly every single leading manufacturer has a hybrid setup in their models. But this 2018 Audi Q6 looks to take all of that even further. Although there are upcoming models like the Nissan Leaf and the already running Chevrolet Bolt, this all-electric Audi is going to take electric vehicles further. And taking it further means touching the 300-mile range.
Based on the E-Tron Quattro Concept
For a company with a tagline translating into progress through technology, Audi did hog more than a fair share of the spotlight in the 2015 Frankfurt motor show. This concept is a 4 to 5-seater crossover-SUV with a complete electric powertrain.
But the best part is that it didn’t look that much ‘from the future’. As a matter of fact, it looked production ready right from the start with the designers sticking as close as they can to current model designs. And this concept will pave the way for a 2018 Audi Q6 all-electric vehicle.
In all probability, the badger on this upcoming model will include ‘e-tron’ as a suffix. But what matters the most is how much this production model will realize the concept’s styling and architecture.
And to give quite a spoiler alert right from the start, buyers can expect a look-alike to hit the showrooms. Front fascia styling and design will be retained other than the metal-hued air intakes and the front lamp LED design. They do look good on the model but would be too extravagant for a production model.
Expect the grille mesh to change a bit so that it does not look completely out of place in Audi’s production models. The absence of side mirrors is a precursor to something else completely but coming to that later. The production model will have a side mirrors.
Audi will replicate the rear end design – that linear rear lamp design does wonders and ensures a second-look. Body lines too might have that concave bulge. Front and rear bumpers along with body side skirts in the concept model have a different hue to the body. Buyers can expect this to continue in this Audi Q6 2018.
Heads-up on windshield displays are next-gen but that is something which Audi has already debuted with their top-end Audi A8 sedans. And that is just a teaser to the next-gen tech interiors which this model will showcase. Buyers will get top-of-the-range amenities and luxury with this 2018 Audi Q6 e-tron and Audi will provide this model will be a high-ranging separate trim. Stay tuned for more info on this section.

Power specs are expected to range in at around 430 HP in normal cruise drive. With an added boost function, it can be extended to 500 HP and as much torque.
