Recently, it began selling from the new Audi Q5 SUV, 2018 model year. In addition to the standard model, the SQ5 version is also more powerful. However, it has recently been rumored that Audi will offer the most powerful version of this model. Specifically, the 2018 Audi RS Q5 should appear until the end of 2017. This version should have the same engine that was introduced in the new RS5 model.
New SQ5 vs RS Q5
2018 Audi SQ5 did not draw attention to expectations. Although their performance deserves it, design is not much different from the standard version of the model. Also, the price of this model is not too attractive. Namely, the starting price of the vehicle is something over $ 55,000. For a very similar figure, new Mercedes GLC43 and Porsche Macan S. are also available. With its design, the SQ5 is very similar to the previous edition, but it is very similar to the standard Q5 model. From the standard model it is distinguished by larger wheels, larger lower intakes, and rear spoiler, from the outside, while in the interior this version has everything expected from the model bearing the “S” mark.
What is offered with the SQ5 model is expected in the 2018 Audi RS Q5 version. More precisely, all exterior upgrades and enhancements are also expected in this model. Also, sports spirit and a certain dose of luxury are expected in the interior of the vehicle. It features comfortable sports seats, a racy flat-bottomed steering wheel, Alcantara leather, Apple CarPlay and Android car connection, MMI all-in-touch system, etc.
Significant differences between SQ5 and RS Q5 versions should be sought under the hood. Although SQ5 version brings exceptional performance and remarkable figures (MPH and HP), RS Q5 version will offer more. The Audi SQ5 2018 features a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine combined with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and a standard Quattro all-wheel drive. The output power of this engine is 354 horsepower with 369 lb-ft of torque.
2018 Audi RS Q5 Specs
According to previous information, the Audi RS Q5 2018 will get the same engine that is under the hood of the new Audi RS5, which was unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The same engine is powered by the Porsche Panamera 4S model. It’s a 2.9-liter V6 bi-turbo unit, with 457 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. With this engine, the RS Q5 should reach the ‘hundredth’ in less than 5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Of course, even here the maximum speed of the vehicle is electronically limited, as with other Audi models.
As expected, this model comes exclusively with the Quattro all-wheel drive system. As for the gearboxes, the details are not yet known. However, it is expected that this model also offers the same kind of transmission as the SQ5 model. In addition, a front grille with a RS mark, specially designed aluminum wheels, as well as an aggressive aero package is expected. The vehicle also comes with a sporty suspension, a sport exhaust system with two exhaust blades, and a stronger brakes. Inside the vehicle there is a modified interior with sports seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, as well as a large number of details according to the “RS” trim.
