2018 Chevrolet Traverse Redesign

General Motors has prepared a number of improvements for crossover SUV models. These are mostly advanced and redesigned models for the 2018 model year. Some of them are presented and already available in sales outlets. Others are presented and are waiting for the start of the sale. And 2018 Chevrolet Traverse belongs to the group of already introduced and upgraded models. The second generation of this Chevrolet three-row SUV brings significant improvements over the previous model.

We have already witnessed significant changes in the GMC Acadia SUV. Significant reduction in weight, new platform, and new technologies have changed this model. Also, the position of this model has changed in the GMs lineup. The same changes were made by the new Chevrolet Traverse. And he, like some other GMs SUV models, is on the new C1XX platform. However, the new Traverse does not change its position, and remains a full-size three-row SUV.

Changes

With the new Acadia SUV, the Cadillac XT5 and the Buick Enclave, they are based on the new platform. More precisely, all crossover SUV models, from the General Motors company, that were installed on the Lambda platform, are changing for the C1XX platform. This achieves a significant reduction in vehicle weight. In addition, the new platform provides the possibility of constructing a vehicle with 2WD or AWD, as well as with short wheelbase or long wheelbase.

The Chevrolet Traverse 2018 is produced in the Delta Township Assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan. The largest number of copies produced will be sold on the North American market. However, Chevrolet plans to offer a number of vehicles in the Middle East and some South American countries.

The 2018 Chevy Traverse was redesigned compared to the 2017 model. Its new look resembles the GMC Acadia model, with a recognizable Chevrolet engine grille. The same front-grille design was seen in the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox model. Also, the last light group has been redesigned. In the end, the new model received a 2 inches higher wheelbase, and less than one inca of total length. With all this, the mass of the new model is 4,362 pounds, which is 111 pounds less than before.

This new transmission is a product of the joint work of Ford and General Motors in order to increase the economy. In addition to the new Traverse SUV, other GMs models get this transmission.
