Built on the k2YG platform, the new 2018 GMC Yukon presents a new feature packed model which includes a sportier look with advanced powertrain specifications. Engine and Powertrain
GMC has planned to retain its existing engine options for the new Yukon. This luxury and comfortable SUV will sport a 5.3 liters V8 engine which will produce an estimated 355 HP. However, more powerful engine option will be available to the tune of 6.2 liters V8 that will produce 420 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque.
In order to produce a better fuel economy, 2018 GMC Yukon will get rid of the 6-speed automatic transmission. In place of that, an 8-speed transmission will be available. Base models will be available in RWD, but GMC has agreed to add AWD facilities for other trims as well.
The powerful V8 engine will enable Yukon to rev up from 0-60 mph in a mere 7 seconds. New transmission system, as mentioned will produce a fuel economy of about 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg in the freeways.
2018 GMC Yukon Changes
In terms of design, 2018 GMC Yukon will show more artistry keeping in mind the comfort of the 7 passengers on board. This new model will go through a new facelift with wider grilles. An all-aluminum body aids in the streamline shape and better aerodynamics.
A new set of LED headlamps and fog lights are made to improve visibility apart from redesigned break lights. Changes in rear perspective reflect will give this new GMC Yukon 2018 a more masculine appearance. 20-inch alloy wheels also intend to add more grips to this vehicle.
The new Yukon promises maximum comfort with upgraded seats and extra comfort to the driver as well passengers. Cowhide leather has been used in upholstery. Features like anti-collision systems and stability/traction Control ensure complete safety to passengers.
In terms of entertainment and communication facilities, the GMC Yukon 2018 will have an advanced interactive GMC IntelliLink. Modern digital system will also include installation of a large LCD screen. It is with Bluetooth connectivity and 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot and satellite radio.
The new 2018 GMC Yukon aims to compete against the GMC Tahoe in it that it has got an excellent powertrain instep of the fact that both the siblings are equipped with V8 engines. Although Hybrid versions are missing in both, the magnetic brie control in the new Yukon ensures better traction and stability to the vehicle.
Price and Release date
The new 2018 GMC Yukon is rumored to be released at the tail end of 2017. The base model Yukon will be priced at around $50,000 while the 2018 Yukon Denali upgraded versions can cost up to $60,000.
