2018 Honda CRV Hybrid New Generation

The popular Honda crossover, Honda CR-V, brings significant refreshment, and a large amount of change, for the 2018 model year. What attracts more attention from the upcoming changes and improvements, is a completely new version of the model. In fact, this is a brand new model. 2018 Honda CRV Hybrid was presented at 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. It is known that the presented version designed exclusively to Chinese customers. Later on offer will be expanded to other markets.

First things first. 2018 model brings significant changes compared to the 2017 model year. In its fifth generation, the model first arrives at the US market, and later to other markets. European buyers will have to wait until 2018 in order to be able to buy the new model. However, it is not the same with a hybrid model. This first model arrives in showrooms in China. American Honda team has announced that it will develop its own version of this model. So if local buyers have to be patient if they want this model.

Power Specification

Although many things are known, one question still bothering anyone interested in this model. Many wonder, what is or what will be located under the hood. According to some, 2018 Honda CRV Hybrid will use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine I-4, which will add to Honda Sport Hybrid Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive system. This would improve the efficiency and economy of the vehicle.

On the other hand, that system has a new Honda Accord Hybrid model. It is therefore believed that the CR-V Hybrid download the whole a hybrid drive system of the model. In this case, under the hood will be found a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, which delivers 143 horsepower. Helped by two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack, this system delivers attractive 212 horsepower output.

We should expect the vehicle to be offered with 6-speed manual transmission and FWD as standard. Variants of the equipment getting richer AWD and 9-speed automatic transmission.

Compared to the previous model, the new generation CR-V crossover gets bigger dimensions. Also, there is a new design and upgraded systems. Like the standard model, the new Honda CR-V Hybrid 2018 is set to the new platform. This is a new modular chassis is taken from the tenth generation Civic model. Release Date and Competitors

We mentioned that the version displayed is only available to Chinese customers. More specifically, will be available later this year. It was announced that the 2018 Honda CRV Hybrid US  version, to be presented at the LA Auto Show in November 2017 year. A little later and will start selling in the US market.

As for the competition, the biggest battle will be conducted with the Nissan Rogue Hybrid, and the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid models. However, Honda announced that the CR-V Hybrid have an EPA rating of 38 mpg in combined driving. This puts it ahead of those competitors, because Rogue achieves 34 mpg and RAV4 32 mpg EPA rating.
