Japanese manufacturer Isuzu has been churning out utility vehicles in recent years with attractive designs and performance. Isuzu tow trucks and pickups are renowned for heavy duty and off-road capabilities. The 2018 Isuzu Mu-X is set to debut with updated features. The new crossover SUV is expected to be more stylish than other Isuzu products.
2018 Isuzu MU-X design features
The 2018 Isuzu MU-X is a successor of the MU-7 midsize SUV. The MU-7 was a much muscular built for extreme off-road drive SUV. The designs also carry an influence of Isuzu pick-up D-Max. The new MU-X is redesigned with aluminum and carbon fiber materials which make the chassis lighter than its previous models. This will provide more stability to the vehicle on tough roads.
The front grille is still huge with horizontal air vents. The body work is mainly aluminum. Its headlamps and tail lights are attractive and low-power consumption with advanced LED lighting technology. Sharp fog lights will be handy for bad weather and night driving.
Taking on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu’s new MU-X has attractive aluminum wheels and 17-inch tires. The wheelbase of the SUV has also increased slightly to 2845 mm in comparison to previous models. For visual perception, the vehicle will be larger than the latest model of Toyota Fortuner but smaller than the likes of Ford Endeavour.

Isuzu has invested in premium materials for the MU-X interior. Along with high-strength plastic materials, a wood lookalike substance will be added. All seats are smartly designed for comfort and safety. Front seats will have heating facility and all trims will get leather covering.
A smart automatic atmosphere control in the cabin gives a comfortable ride to users. Infotainment services will be controlled with a 7-inch touchscreen. 6 way sound system, satellite navigation, multiple USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration complete the gadget list.
The Japanese manufacturer has also loaded the SUV with standard safety measures like rear view camera for parking assist and blind spot detection. As per sources, a unique electronic stability control has been added for smart driving on different terrains.
Other features include automatic multiple airbags system, GPS Sat-navigation and power windows.
The 2018 Isuzu MU-X will feature a single engine unit. The 3 L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine provides 130 HP power and 380 lb-ft. torque. Turbocharger facility is set to increase efficiency along with improved power. It is backed by a 5 speed manual as well as automatic transmission. The vehicle climbs from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.7 seconds. An improved design and lightweight body will enable this upcoming Isuzu MU-X 2018 to achieve fuel efficiency of around 22 mpg on average. Drivers will have a front wheel drive option with all-wheel drive framework.
Pricing and Launch
The 2018 Isuzu MU-X has been estimated to cost around $50,000. Expected to roll out in the mid of 2018, the all new MU-X has its competition in Mitsubishi Pajero, Ford Everest, Hyundai Santa Fe and Chevrolet Traverse.
