Jaguar has been a brand name associated with high end cars. Its association with Land Rover has changed the game squarely by producing some sporty SUV crossovers in the recent years. Though Jaguar can boast of the widely driven Land Rover series of vehicles, it entered the SUV market with the standalone debut of Jaguar F-Pace. The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR promises to be a remodeled version and more tech savvy car on the line. SVR is a product of Jaguar’s Special Vehicles Operations. It is an advanced project of Jaguar for production of high end vehicles with supreme engineering, taken up after Tata Motors bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford in 2008.
An SUV worthy design
The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR will be based on designs of the previous F-Pace and the F-Type Luxury sports car. To give an SUV look, it will have an elevated stance and powerful body parts. Bumpers have been enlarged with prominent air intakes. While the F-Type was a classic Sports utility car, the F-Pace SVR is mainly for off-road lovers. Wheels are larger and low-profile tires have been used.
Interior of the vehicle is equipped with premium materials including brushed metal trim, quilted leather upholstery and aluminum shift paddles. Controlled ambient lighting and a Meridian Sound system will give a great riding experience. Heated front seats and carbon fiber trim option add to the luxuries.
Console consists of InControl infotainment package. Other features include the standard combination of Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, multiple USB ports and support for smartphone sync. Behind the 3-spoke steering wheel you will find an entirely digital gauge.
Drivers will have wide range of controls from the steering wheel itself. Auto-braking system, power windows, parking sensors and traction controls provide an ultimate safety backup for drivers The 5-seat crossover has an impressive cabin space of 33.5 cubic feet space.
Beast of an engine for 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR
SUV enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR hugely due to the rumor that a whopping 550 HP V8 engine might be used. If this is to be the word, then a 5-L F-type engine is likely to be borrowed with power output to be around 543 hp. While the superfast Porshe Macan Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, an engine of this type can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Even if the V-8 engine does not make it to the stores, expect to see a 2-L inline 4-cylinder diesel engine delivering 180 hp power and 318 lb-ft. torque in this Jaguar F-Pace SVR 2018. Another variant is a 3-L V6 engine that delivers 340 hp power and 332 lb-ft. of torque. Top speed of the SVR is estimated to be 160 mph.
Pricing and Launch
$85,000 is the expected pricing for the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR slated to be launched sometime in the late 2017 or early 2018. The vehicle is likely to be a mix of luxury and performance worthy of a Jaguar car. It competes with its cousin Range Rover Sport SVR. Other comparable SUV’s in the market are the Porsche Macan Turbo and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadri.
