Ford’s luxury division Lincoln had started production of its crossover called MKC in 2014. It has been a really popular vehicle in North America. Assembled at Ford’s Louisville Assembly Plant, this Lincoln CUV captured the attention of consumers pretty quickly with its modern styling, powerful engine and with its affordable price. That is why the 2018 Lincoln MKC is one of the most anticipated vehicles in the crossover segment and expect even more enhancements than last time. Lincoln MKC 2018 will not go light in into the market in terms of marketing. So watch out the Range Rover Evoque and BMW X1.
2018 Lincoln MKC powertrain
This luxury crossover is supposed to have a 2.0 L four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost, a signature of most luxury vehicles of Ford. This comes with a 6-speed transmission gearbox and is available on both forward-wheel and all-wheel drive platforms.
The front-wheel drive version of 2018 Lincoln MKC is supposed to produce a power of 240 HP. Its all-wheel-drive version will be able to churn out a power of close to 290 HP. This kind of power enables it to compete directly with the likes of Mercedes GLA and the BMW X1. This CUV is going to be pretty fuel efficient. 18 miles per gallon in the city while 29 mpg on the freeway. Expect an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
Since MKC is a relatively new vehicle, it is not expected to undergo too many changes from its current model as far as dimensions are concerned. However, the 2018 MKC is set to drop its famous split wing grille and replaced it with a single mesh grille in the front with Lincoln’s logo right at the center. Other tweaks in Lincoln MKC 2018 will include xenon LED headlights with daytime running lights and wrap-around tail lights. Lincoln will provide customers with the option of choosing between 18, 19 and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Like in the case of exterior design, interiors will not undergo any major overhaul. Multimedia system will be upgraded, and standard safety features like parking assistance, rear-view camera and 360-degree airbags inside the cabin will naturally be available.
The 2018 Lincoln MKC will be available in a new set of unique colors and personalized lighting, multifunctional steering are amenities that will be provided. Smartphone integration features like Siri Support by Apple and SYNC3 infotainment too will be incorporated in premium models higher up the range.
