Based on Nissan Patrol, the Japanese car maker has come up with a new 2018 Nissan Armada. The expectations of it being redesigned in many ways follow suit. With a robust chassis structure and extensive off-road capabilities, this new vehicle is all set for a late 2017 release. Nissan has not promised significant changes in this car because the present 2017 version is already modified in many ways. With the new Armada, Nissan has also planned to release a newer Titan with new engine and powertrains with minor interior changes.
2018 Nissan Armada Specifications
With an increase in weight of 2018 Nissan Armada, Nissan has got rid of the older engine which produced 317 hp. The manufacturer installs a stronger 5.6 liters V8 endurance engine which can generate up to 390 hp and 401 lb-ft torque. The new engine is fitted with the 7-speed auto transmission in contrast to an older 5-speed gearshift system.
Nissan gets rid of the 3.0-liter turbo engine because it did not meet emission standards. In addition to the petrol engine, a new diesel unit is also rumored to be launched along with the petrol version. Both AWD and FWD versions of this Armada will be available.
New Armada comes loaded with new suspension and braking for better control of the vehicle on the roads. Use of lightweight materials like aluminum further aids in reducing the overall weight and performance. The new Armada is estimated to provide fuel economy of 15 mpg around city and 20 mpg in the highway.
Not many changes can be expected in terms of outer appearance of Nissan Armada 2018. The new chassis will fit this mid-sized luxury SUV for better suspension and gripping on road. Larger 20 inch alloy wheels will be seen.
New sets of fog lighting and boomerang LED lamps aim to provide better visibility and style. Apart from its restructured fenders and new shiny grilles above bigger bumpers aim to give this huge vehicle a masculine look. The new Armada looks shinier with new chrome handles and chrome finish overall.
The new Nissan Armada 2018 offers a luxurious new interior promising maximum comfort. With a larger cabin and automatically adjustable heated seats, passengers have maximum comfort even on longer journeys. Short wheelbase and the engineer roof offer less drag and hence add more performance.
Nissan installs new 8 inch infotainment touchscreen system with smartphone, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Improvements in terms of navigation systems and 360 view camera are made. Additionally a surround sound Bose audio premises ultimate audio experience.
Tagged at a slightly lower price, new Armada struggles to compete with the Toyota Sequoia. While the Armada consumes more fuel and a less responsive steering, the Sequoia offers worse interiors but is a smoother ride compared to Armada. In terms of looks, Armada goes way beyond the Toyota and has got more stylish and comfortable interiors.
The base model 2018 Nissan Armada comes with a price tag of around $44,000 while the higher platinum trim is offered at an excess of $66,000. However the rumored diesel engine is expected at a higher price to the tune of $70,000.
