Keeping up with its rivals, Nissan plans to launch the new version of Rogue. Although it’s a bit smaller than the original Rogue, it’s a one of a kind mean machine, promised Nissan. The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport plans to continue with the Rogue legacy and it has already been revealed in the Detroit car show. This luxury SUV vehicle aims to compete with the likes of Buick Enclave and Honda mid-range SUVs.
2017 version of this vehicle has already hit the charts by getting more than 300,000 vehicles sold in US. This has provided Nissan an impetus to work on its new vehicle. According to sources this vehicle maker has targeted the section of potential vehicle owners who have considered shifting to mid-sized SUV.
What’s inside 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport hood?
Built on the Nissan C platform, Nissan Rogue Sport 2018 retains the original form factor of its predecessors. Like its earlier models, this one should weigh less than most of the crossovers in this range. This is strategically done to improve suspension and give this vehicle a sportier look. This vehicle is expected to come out in S, SV and SL trims.
In terms of powertrain this vehicle is supposed to receive a 2.0 L inline 4 engine which is expected to produce more than 141 HP and 147 lb-ft of torque. This is supposed to be mated to a Nissan CVT Xtronic transmission.
Nissan has declared that this transmission system will aim to improve fuel economy without compensating for speed. Although this vehicle is not deadly fast, car lovers do have a soft corner for its Japanese built strong body.
Fuel economy of 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport is yet to be known. But like its predecessors, this vehicle promises to make the most of its powertrain. The shorter wheelbase and compact form factor will add to its superior handling.
2018 Nissan Rogue Sport Design
This new vehicle is designed for maximum comfort and to offer a sporty feel to its insiders. In order to do that, this new Rogue Sport is rumored to be smaller. Although it offers lesser cargo space than the original Rogue, it promises maximum space for a small family.
Renamed as 2018 Qashqai in Canada, 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport is normally a FWD but an AWD is optional. Like its bigger brother it has got large grilles and a separate center placed elevated grille arrangement holding the company logo.
This new vehicle has got LED lighting and this makes this car more beautiful to look at. Although not much significant changes have been made in terms of exterior styling, it has got a curvier body. A nearly streamline form factor aims to give more thrust to its aerodynamics thus making it a little faster.
From the interior, 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport is a killer because of its modest styling. Although Nissan has not yet talked about the infotainment systems, it’s going to have a decent navigation systems and a well-equipped steering. The leather upholstered seats are designed to provide more comfort. The rear seats are adjustable and can be folded back to create more boot space.
Pricing and Release date
Nissan has not yet released the details of its pricing but it should sit comfortably between its Juke and Rogue models. Car enthusiasts expect a base price of $23,000 for the new 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport. Nissan plans to launch this vehicle towards the end of 2017.
