2018 Nissan X-Trail A manifestation of class and luxury!


Competing against the Skoda Kodiaq and Hyundai Tucson, the new 2018 Nissan X-Trail trails the way regarding performance and design in the medium SUV segment. With a more powerful engine, Nissan is keen to increase the vehicle’s sales manifold. Originally released in 2001, the new X-Trail features and AWD ready to attract more customers.

Keeping in mind the emission standards, Nissan is set to install Euro-6 compliant engines in this new vehicle. Additionally, this new SUV will host a range of technology additions and a more comfortable interior! Buyers can also expect a new Premium trim X-Trail.

Claimed to be little under powered, Nissan X-Trail is a joy ride with its light.  There are also responsive steering wheel and 6-speed auto transmission. While Nissan is rumored to include a hybrid version of this very model, there would be petrol and diesel versions.

The base model of this new Nissan X-trail hosts a 2.5 liters inline-4 engine which is supposed to produce 170 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque.

Also, a diesel version of the new vehicle is also expected. 1.6 liters four-cylinder diesel engine will be coupled with hybrid design electric batteries thus producing 185 hp. Both the petrol and diesel version are mated to 6-speed auto transmission system. Nissan plans to include higher transmission systems as well.

Nissan intends to improve the fuel economy of its new vehicle and take care of the CO2 emissions. Although nothing much is known about the fuel economy of this new vehicle, the 2018 Nissan X-Trail is expected to provide a combined mileage of 33 mpg.

Design

In terms of design, the Nissan X-Trail 2018 varies a lot from its predecessor and differs astronomically from its first generation. This new design gives more stability to the vehicle and improves its aerodynamics. The new set of wheels is larger than before. 17 inch alloy wheels are a standard in the base trim and 18 inch alloys for the Premium model provides more grip.

Nissan has included the V-motion grilles as seen already in other Nissan SUVs. This new version is more linear and aggressive. A raised bonnet fits in the new engine and the LED headlamps fit nicely just below it.

As compared to other vehicles in this range the Nissan X-Trail 2018 has got a comfortable interior housing 7 people with ease. Leather upholstered seats also provide more comfort from inside. New infotainment LCD touch screen promises all-round entertainment and communication facilities for the driver and passengers alike. Nissan has constantly been working on engineering the interior for more protection.

Pricing and Release Date

It  is expected to be available by the beginning of 2018.  This new-gen 2018 Nissan X-Trail offers tough competition when it comes to performance and comfort. Although it’s not as strong as the Mercedes and BMW SUVs in this segment, it manages to outperform Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.While the X-Trail provides better assembled interior as compared to CR-V, it lacks a better surround sound system and GPS navigation compared to CX-5. Nissan makes its new X-Trail available at a price of $20,000 for the base model and a bit more for higher trims.
