During 2019, Renault Captur II, the successor to the current model, will appear on the market. The second generation of this compact crossover brings significant changes and improvements. Namely, the production of the first generation model started in 2013. Production takes place in Valladolid, Spain. On the production line, the factory’s recently come down and millionth Captur crossover.
Such success is for every respect. For such a result, the company took about four and a half years. The current model is represented in 72 countries. However, 78% of the copies produced are sold in the European countries. Otherwise, Renault Captur is the third crossover SUV model in line with this French carmaker. His appearance is significantly lifted sales of Renault vehicles in this segment.
In 2017, Renault offered a restyled version of the current generation Captur Crossover. These minor vehicle refinements slow down the gap until the arrival of the Renault Captur II 2020. The new generation of the model will be placed on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B platform.
In addition to this platform, the second generation comes with a modified outer design. The appearance of the new model is partially inspired by the Symbioz Concept model. This concept was presented in Frankfurt, 2017. Also, Captur II gets a more modern interior.
The vehicle will have an infotainment system of the latest generation. It should also be expected that the vehicle will also offer a digital instrument panel. In the end, the 2020 model should be equipped with Level 2 autonomous driving system.
2020 Renault Captur II Engine Options
It is still too early to expect a complete specification of the new model. In spite of this, information about possible drive units for the new model emerged. Among others, the modified 0.9-liter Tce petrol engine, as well as the 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine, are mentioned.
In addition to these aggregates, it is mentioned that Captur II could also offer its own electrified version. For now, there are no more specific details about this model.
After the arrival of the 2020 Renault Captur II, another crossover model of this company should be expected. According to some information, the new model will be bigger than Captur II. Also, there are speculations that this brand new model could take the name Grand Captur. Namely, Renault has announced that it will invest another 600 million dollars in the mentioned factory in Valladolid, in order to be ready to produce another crossover.
